Spanish - Beginners 2
Entry Requirements
This beginners 2 course is suitable for people with a little previous knowledge of Spanish who would like to be able to speak and understand a little when they are on holiday or travelling for work.
Students will acquire basic communication skills in Spanish, for use in a variety of familiar useful situations such as when you’re on holiday or travelling for work.
7th January 2027, Thursday days, 10.45am-12.45pm.
10 week course.
Students should have completed the Beginners 1 course or have a little previous knowledge of Spanish.
The course has various useful and helpful topics which may include:
- Hobbies/leisure time
- Daily routine and telling the time
- Weather
- Booking and checking into a hotel
- Public and private transport
- Shopping for food and clothes
There are no formal assessments, students will be awarded with a York College certificate upon completion.

This is a classroom-based course and will be taught with a focus on listening, understanding and speaking with an introduction to reading and writing.
Students have access to a fantastic range of College-wide facilities such as the Learning & Research Centre, study hubs, computer areas with accompanying multi-function printers and helpdesk advice.
All materials are provided for you to complete the course. However, some courses may require additional study from home, you may need access to a PC/laptop and suitable Wi-Fi to access teaching and learning. You will be made aware of any additional study time at the time of enrolment.
Students who successfully complete this course may progress to Spanish - Beginners 3 if there is sufficient demand.
You will be equipped with the skills and knowledge in Spanish to help you progress and develop in a number of job opportunities to suit your personal needs and interests.
