We can help you to make informed decisions about your future and feel confident about your next steps. Whether that's planning for university, an apprenticeship, employment or exploring your options, we are here to help.

As a York College learner, you have access to:
- Careers guidance appointments with Level 6 qualified careers advisers

- Careers advice for life - your connection to our careers service does not end when you finish College
You'll have access to a comprehensive range of careers activities, opportunities and support throughout your time at College.
The Careers Roadmap shows what you can expect at each stage and how to make the most of the support available.
We offer 2 main types of careers guidance support:
Drop-in support
For quick questions, you can attend one of our regular drop-ins:
- General careers advice drop-in: Tuesdays, 12:15pm - 1:15pm
- Personal statement drop-in (when applying for university): Wednesdays, 12:15pm - 1:15pm, from September to December
Careers guidance appointments
Need help with your next steps? Complete our referral form and a member of the team will contact you to arrange a careers guidance appointment.
We can support you with:
- Career planning and exploring options
- University applications and personal statements
- Apprenticeships
- CVs and job applications
- Interview preparation
- Job searching
Appointments are usually around 45 minutes. They can take place in person or online and are available throughout the year.

Brilliant Futures Pledge
The Brilliant Futures Pledge is our commitment to helping every learner and apprentice develop the essential skills, knowledge and behaviours valued by employers, universities and the wider community.
Future Founders
Future Founders helps learners explore entrepreneurship, self-employment and how to turn ideas into action. It builds the confidence, creativity and practical skills needed to develop and present a business idea.

Inclusive and tailored careers support
Our careers support is inclusive and can be adapted to individual needs. Learners with SEND and learners who may need additional or targeted support - including young carers, care-experienced learners and other priority groups - can access tailored guidance and reasonable adjustments. Where appropriate, the Careers & Enterprise Team will work with curriculum and support teams to help each learner participate fully and plan their next step.
