At York College, A Levels can be studied in practically any combination, providing you with a great range of subjects and courses to choose from. With over 40 A Level qualifications on offer, York College boasts the widest choice in the region.

New for 2026, we are introducing a new and innovative qualification - York College Mix. These programmes are equivalent to one A Level and will allow students to combine two A Levels and one Vocational course, for students who want a more flexible and personalised learning experience tailored to career aspirations and academic goals.

A Level students at York College study a personalised learning programme in a unique environment, which allows them to develop knowledge and skills, prepare them for examinations, and take them beyond the A Level specification to see what higher-level courses will be like. A Levels are typically studied over two years and are mainly assessed via exams.

Our strong links with universities and the mature relationship with tutors make York College an excellent preparation for higher education or employment.
