Yorkshire & Humber Institute of Technology - specialists in providing higher-level technical education and training

The Yorkshire & Humber Institute of Technology is among a number of Institutes of Technology across the country designed to increase higher-level technical skills for employers. The Institute of Technology is part of a government initiative for the College to work alongside local employers to understand what the skills needs are and then look at how the curriculum can be tailored to meet those needs. Through the Institute of Technology, employers will have the opportunity to support the content of courses and help ensure that students’ skills are up-to-date and relevant for the workplace.
The Institute delivers high-quality, higher technical university-level qualifications with a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects. Qualifications include higher technical qualifications such as Higher National Certificates (HNCs), Higher National Diplomas (HNDs), apprenticeships and foundation degrees.
These include courses in subjects such as Engineering and Engineering Technologies, Manufacturing Technician, Computing and Digital Technologies, Cyber Security, Software Development, Computer Games Development, Precision Agriculture Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Construction and the Built Environment and many more.
Whether advancing your skills, or retraining, elevate your career opportunities with the Yorkshire & Humber Institute of Technology.
Take a look at one of our employer partners, VISR at their Digital Reality Centre linked to the Institute:

The Institute is based on a collaborative partnership between a number of colleges, universities and employers in the region. Partners are working together to deliver, and develop, higher-level curriculum in digital, engineering and manufacturing, construction and agri-tech subjects. Digital and engineering businesses ViSR, CATCH, Skipton Building Society, GB Recruitment and ENGIE Fabricom recognised the need for investment in education to address their wider skills shortages and have signed up as employer partners to be involved in designing the appropriate curriculum, supported by research from local universities – University of York and University of Hull. These employers and universities are part of the governance of the Institute of Technology to ensure continued collaboration and long-term benefits for the region.
