Italian - Beginners 2
This course focuses mainly on comprehension and gaining the confidence to speak the language for travelling for leisure and in work situations.
Students will acquire basic communication skills in Italian, for use in a variety of familiar useful situations such as when you’re on holiday or travelling for work.
Entry requirements
This course is for learners who have already completed at least 20 hours of learning and have a basic understanding of the grammar such as nouns, adjectives, and verb formation.
Course units
This course is for learners who have already completed at least 20 hours of learning and have a basic understanding of the grammar such as nouns, adjectives, and verb formation. You will already be able to introduce yourself in formal and informal situations, buy food and drink, rail and bus tickets, order a meal in a restaurant and use simple directions.
The course focuses mainly on comprehension and gaining the confidence to speak the language for travelling for leisure and in work situations. On completion you will be awarded a College Certificate and the opportunity to advance to the Beginners III course.
Assessments
There are no formal assessments required, students will be awarded with a York College certificate upon completion.

Course progression
Students who successfully complete this course may progress to Beginners 3, if there is sufficient demand.

Study methods
This is a classroom-based course and will be taught with a focus on listening, understanding and speaking with an introduction to reading and writing.
Facilities
Students have access to a fantastic range of College-wide facilities such as the Learning & Research Centre, study hubs, computer areas with accompanying multi-function printers and helpdesk advice.
Additional costs
All materials are provided for you to complete the course. However, some courses may require additional study from home, you may need access to a PC/laptop and suitable Wi-Fi to access teaching and learning. You will be made aware of any additional study time at the time of enrolment.
