What you'll cover
This session offers an engaging introduction to songwriting, combining interactive learning with practical, hands-on techniques.
Participants will explore the foundations of lyric writing, develop an understanding of modern songwriting conventions, and experiment with creative approaches to melody, structure, and storytelling.
Through guided exercises and collaborative activities, learners will build confidence in expressing their ideas and crafting original songs, while gaining insight into the tools and techniques used by contemporary songwriters.
This session is designed for anyone interested in developing their songwriting skills at a beginner level, while also offering valuable insight for more experienced writers seeking fresh inspiration or new creative approaches. It is particularly beneficial for those looking to overcome writer’s block and rediscover confidence in their songwriting process.
While some instrumental ability is recommended, even beginners with basic knowledge of how to play chords will be able to access the course and find the learning environment supportive. Participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments and accessories, such as guitars, plectrums, and capos, to support their creative work. Upright pianos and keyboards will be available on-site for use throughout the session.
