Our skin is constantly changing throughout our lives, but the changes we experience during our 40s, 50s and beyond can sometimes feel particularly noticeable.
Changes in hormones, lifestyle, collagen and elastin production, hydration levels and the skin barrier can all influence how our skin looks, feels and behaves. Skin that once felt balanced may suddenly become dry, sensitive or unpredictable. You may begin to notice changes in firmness, texture, pigmentation, fine lines or breakouts and wonder:
“Why has my skin suddenly changed?”
Skin Through the Years has been created to help you understand those changes and feel more confident caring for your skin as it matures.
Thursday 4th March 2027, 5.30pm-8.00pm.
There are no entry requirements for this course, just an enthusiasm for the topic and a willingness to learn.

This is not an anti-ageing course and it is not about trying to stop the natural ageing process. Instead, we will focus on understanding, supporting and caring for your skin at every stage of life.
Throughout this relaxed and informative course, you will learn more about how the skin works, what happens to it as we mature and how perimenopause and menopause can influence skin health.
We will explore common concerns including dryness and dehydration, loss of firmness and elasticity, fine lines, pigmentation, sensitivity, changes in texture and adult breakouts. You will also learn about skincare ingredients, product choices and how lifestyle factors can influence the health and appearance of your skin.
Most importantly, you will begin to understand your own skin.
There is no single skincare routine that is right for everyone. By learning how to recognise your skin's individual needs, you can make more informed choices about the products you use and the way you care for your skin.
Topics include:
- How the skin is structured and how it functions
- What happens to our skin as we mature
- How perimenopause and menopause can affect the skin
- The role of collagen, elastin and hydration
- Why the skin barrier becomes increasingly important
- Common mature and menopausal skin concerns
- Pigmentation and changes in skin tone
- Dryness, dehydration and increased sensitivity
- Adult and hormonal breakouts
- Skincare ingredients and what they actually do
- How to choose products for your individual skin
