Italian - Intermediate 1
This course is for students who have at least completed Beginners III or Foundation GCSE or can comfortably talk about daily routines, preferences, and common situations using present tense, reflexive verbs, present perfect and imperfect tenses.

Course units
- Talking about plans, projects, and upcoming events.
- Describing festivals and traditions.
- Giving advice.
Describing clothes and making comparisons.
Grammar focus:
- The simple future tense.
- Comparatives.
- The imperative.
By the end of Intermediate 1, students will confidently talk about future plans, recent experiences, and daily responsibilities. They will be able to express opinions and give advice in more natural, flowing Italian. This course builds essential grammar like the present perfect and simple future tenses, expanding their ability to communicate clearly and spontaneously. It's perfect for learners ready to move beyond the basics.
Assessments
There are no formal assessments required, students will be awarded with a York College certificate upon completion.

Study methods
The course will be taught with a focus on listening, understanding and speaking, with some reading and writing.
