Teaching can be one of the most rewarding career paths to take.

Here at York College, we provide a wide range of opportunities for students to begin a career as a teacher or trainer in the post-compulsory sector. We also offer programmes for practitioners wishing to develop their careers by adding to their existing qualifications.

Our extensive offering is supported by our dedicated team of tutors, all of whom have a great deal of experience in the teaching professions. This has enabled our students to flourish in a range of roles, at both further and higher education level.

"Studying the PGCE was brilliant as it gave me the opportunity to specialise in a department and learn first-hand how to teach correctly. My tutors were brilliant and were always there to help support and guide me.

York College University Centre is a great place to study as it offers so much under one roof. The atmosphere was amazing and it was great to have the University Centre, which felt like our own ‘higher education bubble.’

I’m now a teacher and have also taken part in various shows exhibiting my art."
