Cookery School: Healthy Eating on a Budget
Eating well doesn’t have to be expensive. This practical 5-week course teaches how to create nutritious, balanced meals without breaking the bank. You'll explore batch cooking, savvy preparation tips, and creative ideas for making the most of everyday ingredients – all while learning to cook flavourful, satisfying dishes that work for real life.
No prior experience is needed to join this class, so if you want to develop your skills, our chefs are here to help with tips and guidance on how to whip up a range of healthy meals.
All items produced can be taken home for you to enjoy or share.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but students must have an interest and passion for cookery and want to learn more.

Course progression
After this course you could undertake any of the other York College Cookery School classes for your enjoyment.
If you were interested in gaining a formal qualification in catering, our tutors would be able to advise on suitable routes that are available on a full or part time basis.

This course is a practical, hands-on course and students will learn in a friendly and professional kitchen, under the guidance of our expert chefs.
