There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but students must have an interest and passion for cookery and want to learn more.
Embark on a global culinary journey without leaving the kitchen. This fun, immersive course introduces you to flavours and dishes from around the world, helping you build confidence while exploring new cuisines.
Guided by experienced chefs, you’ll learn essential techniques, spice combinations, and cultural insights behind each dish.
Designed for beginners, the course focuses on hands-on learning, creativity, and trying something new in a relaxed, professional environment.
From vibrant street food to comforting classics, you’ll develop practical skills and a deeper appreciation for global food, inspiring you to recreate international favourites at home.
There is no assessment for this course.

This course is a practical, hands-on course and students will learn in a friendly and professional kitchen, under the guidance of our expert chefs.
Here at York College we have state-of-the-art training kitchens and a superb training restaurant, The Cookery.
There are no additional costs for this course.
After this course you could undertake any of the other York College Cookery School classes for your enjoyment.
If you were interested in gaining a formal qualification in catering, our tutors would be able to advise on suitable routes that are available on a full or part time basis.
