“I originally did a year of A Levels but then had a re-think and decided to change course, so decided to study the Health T Level. I’m one year in and really enjoying it, and it will help me to become a diagnostic radiographer.
I’ve really enjoyed the practical aspect of studying a T Level, and I like that there’s a balance between theoretical and practical work. I’ve also enjoyed the opportunity to make new friends.”

“I chose history for archaeology and the other two seemed interesting. My favourite teachers are Shaun for history and Paul for business. My experience at College has been good and fun, and I’ve met a lot of nice people.

“I feel very positive after getting my results today, as they mean that I’ll be able to progress to York St John University to study Forensic Psychology – something I’ve always wanted to do.
I always knew I wanted a career that involved helping people, and studying at College helped confirm that I wanted to study some sort of psychology.
I chose the Extended Diploma route as I thought it would be more manageable for my learning style than studying three separate A Levels.
Highlights of the course include my placement working with young adults with additional needs, and the psychology unit which helped confirm that that’s what I want to do in the future.
I formed a really good relationship with my tutors, who were always there to support when needed. Coming to a new environment was a big step for me, but I’ve enjoyed every moment.”

"I'm really pleased with my results today and I'm now going to do a project management apprenticeship with Network Rail.
I enjoyed studying geography at GCSE and became interested in the other 2 subjects when I came to an Open Event. The Taster Day I attended helped me decide on subjects, especially accounting as I’d not done it before.
Highlights for me were meeting new people and making new friends. I enjoyed the independent work that you could add to your learning.”

“I really enjoyed the placement aspect of studying a T Level, as it gave me the chance to develop my independence and practical experience. Having guest speakers visit us was a real highlight of the course.
I’m really pleased with my results that I’ve achieved, and I’m now lucky to be able to train to become a Norland Nanny over the next four years. Only 100 people nationally get a spot to train as a Norland Nanny each year, and I’m really looking forward to it!”

“I’m really pleased with my results. I chose the course as I did music in secondary school, I play guitar and would like to go into the music production industry. The whole thing has been amazing!
I chose York College because of the facilities, close to access and I was ready for a different environment. The tutors have been so helpful and supportive – they really cared. I’ve made some good friends here too.
Next, I am going to the British Institute of Modern Music in Manchester.”

“I chose to study Esports at York College & University Centre as it’s an area that I’m very passionate about. I knew doing individual, exam-based subjects wasn’t for me, but studying a coursework-based subject with different assessment styles worked really well for me.
One particular highlight of the course was touring the Williams F1 Racing Team.
Studying Esports here has allowed me to explore different areas such as coach and play and podcasts, which have been my favourite topics. My tutors were always available to offer support and advice, and always found different ways to help me understand the course content. The course team was outstanding throughout.
I’m now progressing to study the HNC Esports (Athlete Support and Development Pathway).”

"I feel brilliant about my results, delighted and proud.
I started with A Levels and realised they weren’t meant for me. I chose T Level because of the industry placement. I’ve always been into technology. In my A Levels, I did computer science and really liked it.
I was ready for more of a College environment. The tutors put the effort into us to succeed; they have been so supportive. I felt a bit nervous but my time here has been superb, met great friends who I’ll definitely keep in touch with. I will always remember my time here.
I’m now in full-time employment with a company called Zenith (in Leeds) and now looking at career pathways within the company to develop further. I managed to get this job because of fantastic reviews from my T Level work placement."

“It’s my 18th birthday today – it felt weird getting my results today but has made the day more exciting.
I chose the T Level because of the placement and real-world experience. It was a perfect fit as the content is linked with the career I wanted in project management.
Highlights – the tutors have been amazing throughout. Events such as guest speakers coming into College have been really useful.
The trips such as Go Ape and activities at College have been really fun. I chose York College as it felt more independent. I have met new people from a wide variety of backgrounds.”

I loved the style of teaching offered here, it felt very interactive and two-way, rather than just being talked at. I really appreciated the support of my tutors throughout my studies – they helped me to get the results I needed.

I chose York College & University Centre because of the wide range of courses to choose from. It’s been an absolute rollercoaster of an experience, and the best years of my education so far!
I’ve met some great friends, and my tutors were brilliantly supportive both in and out of the classroom.

Ancient History was my favourite subject, there was always funny anecdotes to be told and I got on really well and made lots of friends in class. I had a good time and felt supported by my tutors.
I chose York College & University Centre as they offered the combination of A Levels I was interested in, and it had a very good reputation. I’d heard particularly good things about the Politics A Level, so this helped my decision to study here.
My overall experience has been really enjoyable, and it’s been great to get my results today, I’m really pleased with them.

I chose York College & University Centre for the fantastic facilities, and I love the city of York too. My brother also studied here and recommended it. The atmosphere at College is brilliant.

Good morning everyone and welcome to Results Day 2026!
Ahead of the celebrations today, here is a message from Ken Merry, York College & University Centre Principal and Chief Executive:
"Today is an important moment for our students, and I want to congratulate everyone receiving their results across A Levels, T Levels, and our Vocational Level 3 qualifications.
These results represent far more than grades on a piece of paper. They reflect the hard work, determination and commitment our students have shown throughout their time with us. Every student receiving their results today should feel proud of what they have achieved.
I also want to recognise the enormous contribution of our staff. Their expertise, encouragement and commitment to our students have played a vital part in helping them reach this point, and I would like to thank colleagues across the College for everything they have done.
Results Day is also about looking forward. Whether our students are progressing to university, an apprenticeship, employment, or the next stage of their education, I hope they leave us confident in what they have achieved and excited about what comes next.
