Make your social media skills 'the business' at Campus@Northallerton

Are you a small business that needs help with your social media strategy to maximise your marketing potential?

If yes, then we are running the perfect course for you at Campus@Northallerton - and you’ll be learning from our award-winning tutor.

Sue Thompson was named Trainer and Educator of the Year for 2022 at the National Digital Women Awards and has also been acknowledged as one of the UK’s “50 Digital Women to Watch” in this year’s finals.

Last month, Sue delivered her first Social Media for Your Small Business course in the Campus@Northallerton learning facilities - part of the redevelopment of the town's former prison that was bought by Hambleton District Council in 2015.

The campus, which has welcomed its first students this year, is a joint venture between the council, York College & University Centre and the University of Sunderland.

Our learning provision at Northallerton comprises of classes for adults in digital technology, as well as short courses for businesses, and online learning.

Sue's course proved popular with everybody who signed up and, for anyone who missed out the first time around, her next workshop will take place on Tuesday, June 20th.

A small business owner herself, Sue runs Catch Design Management from her office in Stokesley and, commenting on what benefits her course offers, she explained: “With social media, small businesses can now have a voice that they never used to have because the more traditional marketing methods were sometimes beyond our budgets.

“Social media gives us the chance to say what we want and promote our own businesses in a fast-changing market. Taking a strategic approach to that output will also mean you target the right audience while saving both money and time.”

The course is suitable for anyone who is a small business owner or is responsible for a small business’s social media output.
