Ready Steady Glow: Student Hair & Beauty Competition Shines Spotlight on Emerging Talent
The talent of York College & University Centre’s Hair & Beauty students and apprentices was recognised with an amazing array of prizes at our annual “Ready Steady Glow” competition.
Held on campus in the Atrium, complete with a main stage, the event saw participants showcase their skills and compete in different categories with winners receiving vouchers for hotel stays, spa experiences, afternoon teas and hairdressing, kindly donated by our business partners.
From intricate braids to avant-garde make-up looks, participants unleashed their artistic flair, with each creation a testament to the dedication and passion fuelling the next generation of hairstylists and beauticians.
Judging the competition were a panel of industry experts renowned for their expertise and discerning eye. The judges, who dedicated their time to critique the students work, were presented with flowers by Head of Curriculum for Hair & Beauty Karen Goodman.
As the event unfolded, spectators were treated to a dazzling selection of styles and techniques, ranging from cover girl make-up to bridal hair styling. Backstage buzzed with excitement as students exchanged tips, shared techniques, and bonded over their shared love for Hair & Beauty.
As the winners were announced and cheered on by their peers, each was presented with a certificate of recognition and their prize.
