Ready Steady Glow 2026 Hair, Beauty and Media Make-up competition highlights top talent
A beehive to rival Marge Simpson’s, a model transformed into the Statue of Liberty and some amazing bridal hair were all among the amazing work on show during our 2026 Ready Steady Glow competition.
The event truly highlighted the brilliant Level 1, 2 and 3 talent in York College’s Hair, Beauty and Media Make-up department.
Amber Crosby (Level 3 Bridal Hair), Frankie Coleman (Level 3 Media Body Art), Savannah Rae (Level 2 Apprentices - Hair up for the Evening), Savannah Hill (Level 2 Full-Time Image Based Theme Hair), Paige Edwards (Level 2 Media Make-up 1920s/1940s), Kaya Tomlinson (Level 1 Beauty) and Jess Leanne (Level 1 Plait & Twist) emerged as the category winners from very strong fields.
The awards were decided by a panel of industry judges, including former York College students Kiana Humphreys, Felicity Camp, Anya Holmes and Lillie Nicholson, along with Julie Compton (Sales Manager at Dennis Williams Hair & Beauty) and Claire Collins.
Each winner also received a prize donated from the competition’s sponsors, as follows:
Amber – Dennis Williams Goodie Bag
