Meet the Fab Four! Our Cambridge bound quartet all from the same Access to HE Humanities classroom
Meet York College’s Fab Four – an elite group of individuals from the same classroom who have all secured places to study at Cambridge this September!
Even more impressively, the Cambridge Quartet have achieved their academic excellence on the college’s Access to Higher Education in Humanities course for adults aged 19 or over and have all overcome differing levels of adversity that prevented them from fulfilling their potential earlier in life.
Kierran Horsfield (aged 29), Poppy Jeavons (22), Isaac Lees (20) and Maurice Cooper (who turned 22 today) have swept the board with Distinction grades throughout the nine-month, full-time diploma, where students choose to specialise in two from three subject options of English Literature, History or Law.
One of two additional smaller units - Politics: Theory & Concepts or Analysing Short Stories - is also selected.
Kierran and Maurice have now accepted offers to study History at the University of Cambridge’s St Edmund’s College, Poppy English at Wolfson College and Isaac History & Politics at Hughes Hall.
The quartet have also paid tribute to the "extraordinary" roles Humanities tutors Alison Willis, Adam Tomes and Clive Broadley have played in their remarkable journeys.
