“I previously studied a Level 3 Business course at York College and found it to be a nurturing and supportive environment, so I decided to return to education and study the BA (Hons) Business Management at the University Centre. The course is organised well and structured so I can work alongside, gaining transferable skills.

The University Centre at York College is a great addition; it allows for collaborative learning with fellow degree-level students. The one-to-one support with academic writing is excellent, and the tutors are always able to give advice and support - this is what I believe differentiates the student experience from other universities.”

"I chose to study at York College University Centre as it offered well respected counselling qualifications at various levels. The course offer and quality was amazing. My tutors were fantastically supportive and helpful, and the University Centre space was a great resource.

My experience at York College University Centre was amazing. It was challenging but I’ve learnt so much and grown as a person. This is the most special graduation I’ve attended and I there’s no greater triumph than being able to attend today’s ceremony.

Since graduation, I’ve gained employment as a counsellor at Disability Plus, helping to counsel others with cerebral palsy like myself.”

“I decided to choose this route of study as I’d worked in the beauty industry for a long time and decided I wanted to pass on my knowledge and experience through teaching. As I was studying during covid, I learned how to teach online using different resources, which is a real skill. I also really enjoyed my placement, it was great to put my skills into practice.

Studying at York College University Centre was great, the location is very convenient and the flexible study model meant I could fit the course in around my other commitments. My tutors were always very supportive and were there for me every step of the way.

I’m now teaching and have since completed my Assessor’s Award.”
