Some prior experience, and employment within a HR role is a requirement for this course. It is recommended that students have previously completed the Level 3 CIPD Peoples Practice course before enrolling but this is not essential. We recommend that you hold GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade 4.
As this is a professional qualification, we recommend that you hold GCSE English and Maths at L2. However, if you do not have these qualifications, please contact us for a discussion as it may still be possible for you to join the course. The CIPD has a policy for students where English is not their first language that gives guidance on appropriate English language entry requirements.
The policy can be found on the CIPD website: https://www.cipd.co.uk/membership/students/qualification-policies.
These are the typical core units you will study over the duration of the course:
- Organisational performance and culture in practice
- Evidence-based practice
- Professional behaviours and valuing people
Further units are selected from a list of specialist and optional units, depending on your specialism.
Students should allow themselves time to study outside of the course too. The amount may vary depending upon the ability of the student, the level of the course, previous knowledge and speed of working. Homework will be set weekly and you are required to complete an assignment to demonstrates that you have met all the outcomes for each unit.
Assignments may include using both written and practical skills. All units must be completed successfully for you to obtain your qualification.
The fees for this course can be supported by a loan of £724, if you feel you may qualify for an available loan, or wish to discuss financial options, please contact the Funding Team.
