Entry Requirements
GCSE or equivalent at grade 4/C or above in Maths and English is a requirement of this course, alongside a Level 3 Assessor qualification. Learners must also have access to, and be able to quality assure at least two assessors in the workplace. It is the learner’s responsibility to find their own assessors.

This practical and applied course is suitable for all experienced workplace assessors who wish to take the next steps into quality assurance. It can be completed in your own place of work as long as entry requirements are met. Throughout the course you will learn more about the quality assurance of qualifications, as well as developing an eye for detail and the training and monitoring of workplace assessors. For those wishing to further their career as an assessor, this course will help with progression routes including that of Internal Quality Assurer.

Assessments

Learners will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence as well as being observed.

Course progression

After successfully completing this course, learners may progress on to the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training – available at York College University Centre, or other higher-level qualifications in a relevant subject.

The course will be classroom-based for knowledge and practical work will be assessed in the workplace.

Students have access to a fantastic range of College-wide facilities such as the Learning & Research Centre, study hubs, computer areas with accompanying multi-function printers and helpdesk advice.

Additional costs

All materials are provided for you to complete the course. However, some courses may require additional study from home, you may need access to a PC/laptop and suitable Wi-Fi to access teaching and learning. You will be made aware of any additional study time at the time of enrolment.

Career progression

Successful completion of this course will allow you to progress in to employment as an Internal Quality Assurer within a range of educational settings.
