Explore your creativity and create your very own ceramic vessel! This course will entail the hands-on making processes of coiling and throwing on the potter’s wheel to produce ceramic vessels. These vessels will be enhanced using texture and sculpture tools and the application of decorative slips.

Explore your creativity and create your very own ceramic vessel! This course will entail the hands-on making processes of coiling and throwing on the potter’s wheel to produce ceramic vessels. These vessels will be enhanced using texture and sculpture tools and the application of decorative slips.
NOTE: Any work produced will need approximately a week to dry and then be fired to biscuit. This is the prior to the last week of term and allows for participants to collect their work.
Who is this course aimed at?
This course is perfect for anyone who wants to develop their making skills in the form of clay, to produce attractive ceramic vessels. A working knowledge of clay would be advantageous, but this course is suitable for beginners and those at an intermediate level.

The ceramic facilities at York College are excellent, with everything needed to produce wonderful pieces of ceramic art.
Our students also have access to a fantastic range of College-wide facilities such as the Learning & Research Centre, study hubs, computer areas with accompanying multi-function printers and helpdesk advice.
