Summer Adult Showcase - Introduction to Welding
You will be shown the processes and techniques in Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding. You will learn how to prepare, weld, and inspect your welds. This course is aimed at people who have an interested in engineering; maybe for a hobby, interest, home project or even beginning a change in career.
You will just need to bring your own steel toe capped boots and overalls. We will provide all other safety equipment, tools and materials etc.
Overview
You will be shown the processes and techniques in Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding. You will learn how to prepare, weld, and inspect your welds. This session is a practical taster, giving you a flavour of welding processes. The tutor will demonstrate techniques and processes, correct and accurate use of tools and equipment and will support you through practice activities to develop your skills and knowledge.

This course is aimed at people who have an interested in engineering; maybe for a hobby, interest, home project or even beginning a change in career.
Facilities
This session will take place in a well equipped fabrication and welding workshop, with all the necessary equipment provided. In addition to specialist engineering workshops, our students have access to a fantastic range of College-wide facilities such as the Learning & Research Centre, study hubs, computer areas with accompanying multi-function printers and helpdesk advice.

£15
