UAL Diploma Performing & Production Arts Level 2
This is a practical course which introduces you to many areas of performance including acting, backstage technical theatre and the principles of movement and dance.
Entry requirements
A minimum of 4 subjects at grade 3 ideally including English and Maths.
What will I study?
You will be introduced to many areas of performance, in particular acting, but also singing, movement and even technical theatre.
Over the year, practical work and assignments will include a range of projects drawn from core and specialist units.
You will also be required to study GCSE maths and/or English if you have not achieved a grade 4.
Method of delivery
You will typically be in College 3/3.5 days per week which will also include any GCSE English and/or maths resits you may need to undertake. In-College delivery is supported by online resources and potentially trips and visits to support primary research within project work.
How will I be assessed?
There is continuous assessment of project/assignments throughout the programme. These may include performances, presentations, practical or written work. The course is primarily a practical one, consisting of 70% practical work and 30% written work. All units are assessed and an overall grade for the course will be awarded.
Good course combinations
This is a full-time course. It is not possible to combine this course with other Vocational, Apprenticeship or A Level programmes. You would only undertake GCSE English or Maths alongside this (if applicable).
Your next steps
Students who achieve a Merit grade can look to move onto a Level 3 pathway in Acting, Dance & Musical Theatre or Events Technician (dependant on passing GCSE English/maths).
