What will I study?

The core units help you get to grips with what these creative industries are, how to work in them, researching and planning projects, working with others in a professional way and all the other skills professional media producers need.

You will also work to professional briefs through the Employer Set Project and work experience placements in relevant areas.

The Events & Venues Technician occupational specialism allows students to develop practical the skills needed to work in creative spaces. You will cover areas including client liaison and needs, establishing the purposes of venues and events, working in creative spaces with lighting, sound, video, etc. and maintaining venues for performances and events. As well as learning the professional vocabulary and processes of venue management you will also learn many of the skills traditionally associated with production arts.

Industry Placement
The 45 day industry placement allows you to develop your occupational specialism skills as well as those necessary to working in any environment, such as effective planning, working with others, health and safety and promoting equality and diversity.

Method of delivery

As a T Level student, you will spend 80% of the course in their learning environment, gaining the skills that employers need. The other 20% is a meaningful industry placement, where you will put these skills into action.

You will therefore typically be in college 4 days a week, with industry placement hours on the 5th day.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through a combination of practical work, employer set projects and exams. It also includes an industry placement working with an employer that we will help you set up.
