Beauty Therapist Apprenticeship Level 2
If you want an exciting and varied career that enables you to work in a creative industry then beauty therapy could be for you. There is a demand across the country for skilled and qualified Beauty Therapists, and employers increasingly need committed, well trained and enthusiastic workers.
To start the course you must be employed in a relevant environment for a minimum of 30 hours per week. You should ideally have a minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including Maths and English.

- Providing massage treatments
A Beauty Therapist will typically work in a beauty salon or spa. They provide one-to-one treatments on clients in a private environment providing facials, hair removal and waxing services, and body, hand and foot treatments.
Method of delivery
Apprentices attend College one day per week, and work for their employer the rest of the time. The apprenticeship takes one year to complete and will be followed by an end point assessment. The apprentice may need to attend an extra block session for Functional Skills, Maths and/or English.
How will I be assessed?
You will build up a portfolio, which is a collection of examples or evidence of your work that demonstrates your skills and ability, such as a work diary, photos, statements from your employer and colleagues and examples of completed tasks. As part of the theory input you will carry out an online test for each unit. You will be required to pass an End-Point Assessment (EPA) which consists of practical observations and oral questions and will be graded by an external examiner.
There are no specific College programme-related costs, however you will be advised of any additional costs during your application and enrolment process. Students will need to purchase the College uniform and kit.

Good course combinations
This is a full-time course. It is not possible to combine this course with other Vocational, T Level or A Level programmes.
