Adobe Illustrator for Beginners
This course is suitable for those would like to learn the basics of Adobe Illustrator and how to use it in a variety of different design applications.
You will be taught through a series of tutorials demonstrated by the tutor in class (all tutorials have a detailed step by step document). You will be taken through a series of drawing tasks which can be used for a variety of different outcomes.
Entry requirements
You do not need previous knowledge of Adobe Illustrator. However, good computer skills are a requirement of the course - if your computer skills are limited then this course may not be for you. Please speak to one of our advisors if you are unsure.
Course units
After an initial introduction to the software, the course will explore the use of various tools to allow you to create your own designs.
Assessments
There will be no test/examination associated with this course and students will be able to work at their own pace.

Course progression
Completion of this course will enable students to progress on to various other Art & Design courses available at York College & University Centre.

Study methods
This course is classroom-based with a mixture of whole class demonstration and individual one-to-one help.
Facilities
Students will have access to a suite of Apple Mac computers with industry leading software.
You will also have access to a fantastic range of College-wide facilities such as the Learning & Research Centre, study hubs, computer areas with accompanying multi-function printers and helpdesk advice.
