Industry placement

The industry placement allows you to develop your subject specific skills as well as those necessary to working in any environment, such as effective planning, working with others, health and safety and promoting equality and diversity.

Method of delivery

Your studies will be across four days per week and one day on work placement. These will be mainly classroom based, when in College, but you will also undertake experiential learning. Over the two years of your technical qualification studies you will spend 80% on College-based studies and 20% on employer work experience.

How will I be assessed?

Core Content component:
• Paper A written examination
• Paper B written examination
• Employer-set project

In order to achieve a grade for the Core Content component, you must have results for both sub-components - the Core (written) examinations and the Employer-set project. The combined results from these will be aggregated to form the overall Core Content component grade (A* to E and U).

If you fail to reach the minimum standard across all sub-components, you will receive a U grade. No overall grade will be issued for the Core Component until both sub-components have been attempted.

Occupational Specialism Component:
• Synoptic assignments

You are also required to successfully achieve a Distinction/Merit/Pass grade in one of the Occupational Specialism components. If you fail to reach the specified level of attainment, you will receive a U grade.

Your next steps

This technical qualification will support students on to a range of progression routes including employment, higher education and higher apprenticeships. Career paths include Operations Manager, HR Professional, Marketing Manager and Project/Events Manager.
