Have you always fancied the idea of studying a new course and acquiring fresh skills but been put off by affordability concerns?

The Cost of Living Crisis has sharpened the focus on financial priorities in most households but did you know at York College & University Centre we have a wide range of online Level 2 courses that are free* for most adults?

All the courses can be studied part-time, last between eight to 16 weeks and, if you have access to a PC or laptop and suitable Wi-Fi, then you could enrol today.

TQUK (Training Qualifications UK) Level 2 Certificate in Nutrition and Health

This course is perfect for anybody looking to increase their knowledge and understanding of nutrition and healthy eating.

You will learn how to use food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet; the principles of weight management and about eating disorders and food safety for the home environment.

Whether you work in the healthcare or fitness industry or simply want to make some healthy lifestyle adjustments to your own habits, you will gain the understanding needed to devise a diet and exercise plan that’s tailored to the individual and can achieve maximum desired results.

Nutrition

TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health

On this course, you will learn about the issues facing children and young people such as depression, anxiety and conduct disorder, as well as external factors that affect their mental health and how you can best support them in their everyday lives.

It can also facilitate progression on to further qualifications and into relevant employment in the health and social care or education sectors.

TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care

This course will develop your knowledge and understanding of the underlying principles required for a variety of job roles in the adult health and care sector.

*Most students over the age of 19 will be able to study these courses for free. However, please contact us if you’re aged 19-23 and do not yet have a full Level 2 qualification (five GCSEs grades 9-4/A*-C, NVQ Level 2 or higher) as additional eligibility criteria may apply.
