Hospitality Supervisor (Food & Beverage) Apprenticeship Level 3
A Hospitality Supervisor can work in a wide range of establishments including bars, cafes, hotels or restaurants. The role provides support to the management team, independently supervising Hospitality Team Members, and running shifts and service. Food and Beverage supervisors must maintain standards and coordinate a range of dining experiences and styles, adapting to increasing diversity in differing food and beverage menus.
A Supervisor has to be able to work under pressure, perform a variety of tasks, and maintain excellent customer service. They must have a high level of technical knowledge and be able to lead and motivate teams within a fast-paced environment.
Entry requirements
You must be employed in a relevant role for a minimum of 30 hours per week. As a minimum, you should have 4 GCSEs or equivalent at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths and a Level 2 qualification in a hospitality subject, as well as having worked in an operational role within the hospitality industry.
What will I study?
This apprenticeship will give you the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to work as a Hospitality Supervisor and will include the following topics:
- Health and Safety in Hospitality
- Food Safety in Hospitality
- Customer Service, including coordinating the team to deliver to customers according to their needs in line with business/brand standards
- Use leadership styles and supervisory management skills appropriate to the business
- Prepare food and beverage service areas in line with service style meeting customer needs and business/brand standards
Method of delivery
Apprentices attend College one day per week and work for their employer the rest of the time. This apprenticeship takes 12 months to complete and will be followed by an End-Point Assessment.
How will I be assessed?
The End-Point Assessment (EPA) will comprise of:
- 120-minute online knowledge test
- Observation of 4 hours in the working environment
- Business Project
- 90 minute Professional Discussion
Additional costs
There are no specific College programme related costs, however you will be advised of any additional costs during your application and enrolment process.
Good course combinations
It is not possible to combine this course with other Vocational, T Level or A Level programmes.
