Day 1: 25th June - Transition to College - Support and Success

This event is for those looking at post-16 next steps who are aged 14-16. This day is designed to help you understand how we can support your young person transition to College. Talks will be delivered in our award-winning restaurant, The Cookery, whilst your child experiences a range of taster lessons at College. You will have the opportunity to tour the College facilities and visit their lessons. Refreshments and lunch will be provided for you and your child. 

Talks will cover the following topics:

  • GCSE English and Maths and Entry Requirements
  • Pastoral Support and our 1-1 Tutorial Programme of Personal Professional Development
  • Wellbeing Support - How We Can Support Your Child
  • Learning Support Resource Centre
  • Bursary and Travel Information
  • Tour of our Resources and Q&A 

 

Day 2: 26th  June - Choosing the Right Course and Next Steps

This event is for those looking at post-16 next steps who are aged 14-16. This day is designed to help you and your child choose the right type course for them Talks will be delivered in our award-winning restaurant, The Cookery, whilst your child experiences a range of taster lessons at College. You will have the opportunity to tour the College facilities and visit their lessons. Refreshments and lunch will be provided for you and your child. 

Talks will cover the following topics:

  • Level 3 Options
  • A Level and EPQ
  • Vocational Study
  • T Levels
  • Apprenticeships
  • Skills and Inclusion
  • The Admissions Process
  • Careers and Next Steps: What is UCAS?
  • Q&A and Tours 

Please enrol by 31st May 2025. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend this event without their child if they would like to receive the relevant information.

9:15- 9:30: Welcome Refreshments 

9:30-9:45: Getting Started - introductions and key info

9:45-10:45: Talk 

10:45-11:15: Break and Q&A

11:15-12:15: Talk and Tour

12:15 -13:15: Lunch and Q&A

13:15-14:45: Programme of Talks 

14:45- 15:30: Refreshments and Q&A 

Taster Sessions for Students

You only need to attend on one of the days and there are five strands to choose from, as per the table below. You’ll need to choose which strand to experience on the day when you book your place.
