The York College University Centre Graduation will be held on Thursday 26th September 2024. This graduation will be for graduates from class of 2024. The Graduation Ceremony will take place at York Minster and begin at 7.15pm, seating to begin at 6:45pm.

A professional group photograph outside York Minster will be taken at 6:30pm, however we do ask that staff and graduands are present from 6:15pm to ensure there is plenty of time for the group photo to be set up and arranged.

Prior to the ceremony, between 3.00pm and 6.00pm, graduates and their guests will be able to book a time slot at The Guildhall York to pick up their gown and have professional photography taken.

Schedule for the day:

3.00pm – 6.00pm: Gowning and photography opens at The Guildhall York. Please make sure you attend at your pre-booked a slot. You only need to book 1 time slot per graduate, your guests will be able to join you.

6.15pm: Arrival at the Minster for official photographs at 6.30pm

6.45pm: Guests can begin to be seated in the Minster, entrance through the west door

6.45pm: Graduands to be seated in the Minster, entrance through the south door

7.15pm: Graduation ceremony to begin

9.00pm: Ceremony finishes and gowns to be returned to the Guildhall

10.00pm: Gown return closed

RSVP

All graduates need to RSVP for the event to let us know if you are attending or not, by 16th August 2024.

If you are not attending it is also important to complete this form, so that we have an accurate record and do not email you reminders.

This form is designed to record everything both you and York College University Centre need for your graduation in one place.

This form registers the following information:

Your RSVP, including your number of guests
Any special requirements for yourself or your guests e.g. BSL
Your requested gowning slot

This form also allows you to request any additional tickets over and above the two guest tickets you are allocated.

Gowning

It is compulsory you wear a gown for graduation. You can order from our gowning supplier Ede and Ravenscroft via this link. The information required to order your gown is your Student ID, your surname and your student email address.

Photography

You can book your photography package at the same time as ordering your gown from our suppliers Ede and Ravenscroft.

You will have your photography done at The Guildhall York at the same time slot you have booked to collect your gown.

You also need to be at the Minster at 6.15pm ready for professional photography at 6.30pm with your peers and tutors.

If you take any of your own photos, please share them with us by tagging York College and #YCGraduation24

Guests

You are able to bring 2 guests to your graduation ceremony. These guests can also join you at The Guildhall York to pick up your gown and have any professional photography taken.

If you would like to submit a request for extra tickets, please do this when completing the RSVP form.

The Guildhall York is our venue for gowning, this will be open between 3:00pm and 6:00pm. You must book a slot when you RSVP.

The Minster is our venue for the Graduation Ceremony. Graduates must arrive here at 6.15pm ready for a professional group photograph at 6:30pm.

The ceremony will begin at 7:15pm, seating will begin at 6:45pm. Graduates enter via the south door and guests will enter through the west door.

Please note York Minster can get quite chilly, so do please bring an extra layer of clothing if you feel you will need it.

Please note there is no parking at either venue.
