We are a College guided by our core values of Ambition, Care, Respect and Success, and are one of the leading Colleges in the country, judged ‘Good’ by national inspection body Ofsted.

We offer the widest range of courses in the region and combine expert teaching with world class facilities in one of York’s most modern and recognisable buildings, for a complete learning experience no matter what course type or subject area you choose.

We have more than 7000+ students studying with us annually and our wide range of courses range from entry level through to degree and accredited professional courses to courses for business. We are the largest provider of A Level and vocational programmes for 16 - 19 year olds in the region, offering nearly 40 A Level subjects, 30 Apprenticeships and more than 70 vocational courses. The College also delivers a range of apprenticeships and works effectively with more than 1,000 employers, helping them to recruit apprentices and provide bespoke training for their employees. The College was also chosen as one of the pilot providers of the new T Level courses, from September 2021 with our provision continuing to grow each year.

Courses available to study also includes a range of flexible degree and higher-level courses in our University Centre as well as many accredited professional courses for adults that aim to upskill, retrain or help you progress in your chosen career.

Safeguarding at York College

Young people have a right to be cared for and protected, protecting them is everyone’s responsibility. Here at York College & University Centre we have a duty of care to ensure that all our students are kept safe from harm. We are committed to provide a secure and supportive environment in which young people can develop and grow into mature and responsible adults. Safeguarding young people and adults at risk is an essential part of our holistic approach to ensure everyone is protected from abuse and neglect and that everyone reaches their full potential.

The best interests of the young people will always be our priority. As such, there are times we will need to record, monitor and share information with other agencies. We will share safeguarding concerns about our young students unless we have reason to believe that such a move would not be in their best interest.
