This is an exciting time to be joining our wonderful college as we embed our new strategic plan, work towards our brilliance plan, and ensure we fulfil our civic responsibility by working closely with the communities we serve.
I truly believe we are a brilliant college, and you should be excited by the roles that are available at our college regardless of which part of the college you are looking to join.
We are the largest college in York and North Yorkshire, and we have the broadest curriculum offer, covering A Levels, T Levels, vocational programmes, apprenticeships, and higher-level courses. Each year we educate approximately 4,000 16-to-18-year-old students, nearly 1,000 apprentices, about 400 students studying higher level qualifications, and close 3,000 adult students each. We also have around 350 students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)
The varied range of students and apprentices that come to the college make us a very rich and vibrant organisation.
However, we would not be the college we are without our staff.
We ensure that we pay our staff a fair salary for the role we ask them to do (higher than the sector and regional averages), offer staff a wide range of professional development opportunities, a wide range of additional benefits – including free access to our on-site gym and access to a range of discounts with local and regional companies.
My senior leadership team and I are keen to ensure that staff feel valued, empowered, and included as we move the college forward. Our Brilliance Plan underpins everything we do and you will soon become familiar with the plan as you join the college.
