Overview

The purpose of the qualification is to develops learner’s knowledge and understanding required to work with individuals with learning disabilities or difficulties. Principles of safeguarding are included, together with positive risk taking and awareness of the autistic spectrum. The qualification is suitable for those working or intending to work in healthcare and social care but may be of interest to those working in education or housing support roles.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements however learners must have a minimum of level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

Qualification Level

TQUK Level 2 Certificate.

How is this course delivered?

This course is available in online format, making the course flexible and easy for you to access. Personal tutors are assigned to each learner, to ensure you have the support you need throughout the duration of the short course.

Course Breakdown

Learners must achieve 6 units:

Unit 1: Introduction to personalisation in social care.

Unit 2: Introductory awareness of autistic spectrum conditions.

Unit 3: Principles of positive risk taking for individuals with disabilities.

Unit 4: Principles of supporting individuals with a learning disability to access healthcare.

Unit 5: Safeguarding and protection in care settings.

Unit 6: Understand the context of supporting individuals with learning disabilities
