One year for each level.
In the first year you will study the Certificate. On successful completion you will continue onto the second year to complete the Extended Diploma, following a progression interview.
The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care has been designed to enable students to access Higher Education or assist with progression into the workplace.
This qualification covers a wide range of key subject areas in Health and Social Care. The Extended Diploma includes a wide range of optional units, allowing students to pursue an interest in the specific areas of social care, health studies and health sciences, whilst still allowing enough diversity for the optional units to be tailored to suit a student’s preferred progression path. This qualification promotes high quality care and support and has been mapped to the standards within the Care Certificate.

Please note it is not possible to take an A Level alongside this programme.
All units are assessed through a portfolio of evidence and one extended assessment. All portfolio evidence is internally assessed and externally moderated. The extended assessment is externally set and externally moderated. Your work will be graded within the range A* - D.
