Who is this course aimed at?

Adults wanting to begin a career in hairdressing or to advance in their career by gaining new skills.

This is a condensed course enabling those who have other commitments to study on a part time basis. Challenging and rewarding however time must be given for home study.

Entry Requirements

Good work ethic, Good communication skills and a Commitment to home study, at least 3 hrs a week.

  • Working in the Hair Industry
  • Follow Health and Safety Practice in the Salon
  • Client Consultation for Hair Services
  • Shampoo and Condition the Hair and Scalp
  • Setting and stylingBlow drying hair
  • Cut Women’s Hair
  • Colour and Lighten Hair

  • Observation of the skills taught and learnt

  • Oral questioning

VRQ Level 2 in Women’s Hairdressing City and Guilds

Yes tool and uniform, details will be given at interview and induction

How much home study is expected?

At least 3 hours a week

Progression

This qualification provides progression opportunities for those with intentions of progressing into a supervisory or more technical role or onto a VRQ Level 3 qualification or an apprenticeship.
