To those already familiar with the basics, the course concentrates on building documents using pictures, tables and styling headings. The course will also cover MailMerges.


  • Review of Word basics
  • More on Styles - Organising Styles in the Document
  • Advanced Table design, formulas, styles and sorting
  • Creating multi-level numbered Lists and Headings, bulleted lists
  • Using, editing and creating multi-section Document Templates
  • Formatting multiple columns within the Document
  • Placing, Formatting and Captioning Text and Graphics
  • Inserting Quick parts and using Autotext
  • Using the Navigation Pane – Headings, Pages and Search
  • Producing a Table of Contents, Index and Table of Figures
  • Mail Merging within Word
  • Using the Tasks Pane
  • Building the Data Document
  • Creating the Merge Letter
  • Previewing and printing the Merge and Envelopes
  • Previewing and Saving Documents as PDF

Designed to take the novice Word user further in the package. The emphasis is on using the package to handle many different types of documents and utilise common features such as Mail Merges and Tables of Contents.
