Who is this course aimed at?
This summer school is designed ideally for people who have some experience of clay work and some of the processes listed but tuition is given so if you are enthusiastic and willing to learn then give it a try.
Creating a decorative platter/ tableware for that special occasion without using a Potter’s wheel.
Day 1 - Producing a platter or tableware using a combination of hand building, press moulding and freeform building.
Day 2 - Exploring some of the glazing processes for your platter/ tableware and further experimenting/ creating of tableware but using coloured slips.
Enthusiasm and commitment are essential. Some experience of working creatively and being practical and ready to be experimental will be a bonus.
Dates and Times
Sat 6th July and Sat 13th July 10-4pm (5.5 hours per day).
Exploration of some ceramic processes mentioned from idea to outcome.
Please note that all pieces will have to be fired so details of when you can collect your final pieces will be given out during the summer school.
Tuition given in specialist workshops.
