Super Saturday Adult Taster - Introduction to Simple Back Massage
Students will both give and receive a back, neck and shoulder massage during the training event using a selection of massage mediums provided by College. They will also learn of basic anatomy relating to the back, neck and shoulders.

Students will both give and receive a back, neck and shoulder massage during the training event using a selection of massage mediums provided by College. You will also learn of basic anatomy relating to the back, neck and shoulders.
Modules include:
- Basic anatomy of the back
- Simple massage movements that can aid relaxation and help with tension across the back and shoulders
- Contra-indications to massage
- The benefits of massage
- Aftercare advice
Who is this course aimed at?
This course will interest those who wish to learn how to perform a simple back massage for relaxation purposes. You might use such skills to provide massage to friends or family.

York College have 2 large fully equipped hairdressing salons, an inviting commercial salon reception, 3 media make-up workshops and 2 beauty therapy salons.

Skills you will develop
As well as improving your massage technique and knowledge, you will also learn communication techniques, interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as a team.
Course progression
This course would allow you to progress to the Body Massage Level 3 course.
