In this course we introduce you to the essential skills and concepts of bookkeeping and accounting.
Overview
In this course we introduce you to the essential skills and concepts of bookkeeping and accounting. To start with you will practice some practical skills in numeracy and you will then gain knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles that underpin bookkeeping and accounting. You will learn the time-honoured rules of double-entry bookkeeping and how to prepare a trial balance and the two principal financial statements: the statement of financial position and the statement of profit and loss account.
This course is informally assessed; the main activities will include the production of the documents listed above.
Who is this course aimed at?
This introductory course is the perfect place to start if you have no experience in bookkeeping or accountancy. We take you right from the start and by the end of the session, you will know what it takes to undertake the basics of bookkeeping.
