Spring Adult Showcase - Introduction to Yoga
Have you always wanted to learn more about yoga or wanted to become a yoga instructor?
This course offers an introduction to the different elements of yoga. More than just a physical workout, yoga is a full mind and body exercise. Learn more on this fun course!
Overview
This session will cover the following:
- Introduction to yoga
- Philosophy of yoga
- Complete a yoga session
- Meditation
- Work with others to create a yoga session
You'll be instructed by the yoga instructor and will complete activities, as well as receive information and guidance about yoga. When you've successfully completed the activities, you'll be given a York College Certificate of Attendance.
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for exercise, and bring a yoga mat and water.
Who is this course aimed at?
This course is aimed at those interested in learning about yoga, becoming yoga instructors, or those looking for an opportunity to learn a new skill, start a new hobby or enjoy some relaxation of the mind and body.
Facilities
At York College we have a range of sport facilities to enhance student learning.
Our students also have access to a fantastic range of College-wide facilities such as the Learning & Research Centre, study hubs, computer areas with accompanying multi-function printers and helpdesk advice.
