Spring Adult Showcase - Introduction to Hairdressing

This exciting session will provide an introduction to hairdressing, specifically focusing on learning and developing hairdressing skills on a block.

During this session you will observe a demonstration and carry out work on a block to demonstrate your skills. Not only is this a great way to make new friends, but also an opportunity to learn about the various aspects of hairdressing, giving you sufficient information to see if this might be a course you would like to study in the future.

Please wear comfortable clothing and flat shoes that fully support the foot.

When you've successfully completed the practical activity, you will receive a York College Certificate of Attendance.

This course is aimed at those interested in learning hairdressing techniques, who would like to develop and learn new skills.

This course will take place in one of our professional salons.

At York College we have a range of beauty therapy treatment rooms, hairdressing salons and media make-up workshops to ensure our students are able to train in a professional working environment.

This is a brilliant opportunity to learn more about hairdressing, explore and practice hairdressing techniques, view our facilities and make new friends.

You'll learn basic hairdressing skills and will practice these skills on a block.

If you enjoy this session you might like to study the Level 1 Hairdressing qualification. This course will be across one evening a week for a full academic year. More information will be provided during the taster session.
