Spring Adult Showcase - Introduction to Fitness & Nutrition
This course is aimed at anyone interested in becoming healthier and fitter, and those who are interested a career in personal training or the fitness industry. It will provide students with an introduction to an introduction to health, fitness and personal training.
Overview
This course will provide you with an introduction to health, fitness and personal training. Classroom-based theoretical aspects will focus on developing your knowledge on the skeletal, muscular, energy and digestive systems as well as health and fitness-based concepts.
A highly practical course, you will develop your knowledge and coaching skills by using our Athletic Suite to learn how to instruct others on key pieces of cardiovascular and resistance training equipment effectively enabling you to deliver fitness programmes.

Facilities
We have a state of the art Athletic Suite, where students will have access to industry standard gym equipment, including health screening resources.
At York College our students have access to a fantastic range of College-wide facilities such as the Learning & Research Centre, study hubs, computer areas with accompanying multi-function printers and helpdesk advice.

Course progression
Students could progress to the Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing then the Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training or Level 3 Award in Nutrition.
