This qualification is suitable for students who want to increase their knowledge and understanding of Technology Enabled Care (TEC), and how a range of technology can be used to improve individuals’ quality of life and help to support them to live independently.

Course units

The course consists of 4 mandatory units:

Unit 01 Introduction to Technology Enabled Care

Unit 02 Understand a person-centred approach to Technology Enabled Care

Unit 03 Understand roles and responsibilities in relation to Technology Enabled Care

Unit 04 Introduction to legislation, safeguarding and regulatory requirements relating to Technology Enabled Care

Assessments

Students will create a portfolio of evidence.

Study methods

This is a classroom-based course that will be taught face-to-face.

Facilities

Students have access to a fantastic range of College-wide facilities such as the Learning & Research Centre (LRC), study hubs, computer areas with accompanying multi-function printers and helpdesk advice.

Additional costs

All materials are provided for you to complete the course. However, some courses may require additional study from home, you may need access to a PC/laptop and suitable Wi-Fi to access teaching and learning.

Career progression

Technology enabled care (TEC) is a way in which individuals can support themselves and gain independence in their lives. Completing this course will give students the ability to understand how this works and the way in which it can be implemented.

Once completed, students could progress into entry level roles within the health and social care sector.
