In this session, you will focus on "Subtraction Pattern Cutting." Subtraction cutting is an approach to garment pattern making that incorporates chance discovery, distance and the ability to cut fast and inaccurately without too much reference to numbers, fractions or sizing scales.
This will provide a great introduction to pattern cutting and other aspects of this degree, providing you with information and the opportunity to take part in practical activities to develop your skills and introduce you to new concepts.

Facilities
Tutor led demonstrations are delivered face-to-face in studio and workshop spaces whilst group collaboration and seminars provide opportunities for discussion and debate. Studio design practice is delivered parallel to workshop activity to facilitate creative garment design, development and production.
As the next generation of fashion professionals who have the technical skills our industry requires, you will use the latest in cutting edge pattern cutting technology from Gerber. This will allow you to build skills in both traditional pattern cutting techniques and digital methods.
