Digital Marketer Apprenticeship Level 3
Digital industries apprentices are employed in a wide variety of different organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors. The primary role of a Digital Marketer is to define, design, build and implement digital campaigns across a variety of online and social media platforms to drive customer acquisition, customer engagement and customer retention.
Employment in a relevant environment for a minimum of 30 hours per week. You will need to have 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, Maths and a Science or Technology subject, or a relevant Level 2 apprenticeship or other relevant qualifications and experience.
What will I study?
A Digital Marketer will typically be working as part of a team; in which they will have responsibility for some of the straightforward elements of the overall marketing plan or campaign. The marketer will work to marketing briefs and instructions. They will normally report to a Digital Marketing Manager, a Marketing Manager or an IT Manager.

Method of Delivery
Delivery will be in partnership with employers and adopt a blended approach of on and off-the-job training and professional development. Apprentices will receive training and mentoring in the workplace and knowledge, skills and behaviour development at York College through classroom-based activities.
How will I be assessed?
Grading takes place at the end of the apprenticeship, following the End-Point Assessment (EPA). The output is a single grade: Pass, Merit or Distinction for the entire apprenticeship.
There are no specific College programme related costs, however you will be advised of any additional costs during your application and enrolment process.
You will develop the knowledge, understanding, skills and behaviours (know it, show it and live it) in relation to the areas of specialism associated with the role.
Apprentices must achieve one internationally recognised vendor or professional qualification.
- BCS Level 3 Certificate in Marketing Principles.
- BCS Level 3 Certificate in Digital Marketing Business Principles.
- MTA HTML5.
Good course combinations
This is a full-time course. It is not possible to combine this course with other Vocational, T Level or A Level programmes.
Your next steps
This apprenticeship is recognised for entry onto the Register of IT Technicians and those completing their apprenticeships are eligible to apply for registration. Completion of the apprenticeship would also allow access to join as an Affiliate (Professional) Member of the CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) and/or Associate membership of BCS (Chartered Institute of IT)
Completion of this apprenticeship can lead to promotion within your role or your organisation or a higher-level programme of study.
