York College A Level Politics students will appear on the Yorkshire & Lincolnshire regional segment of BBC Sunday Politics after being interviewed about young people's perspectives on the current political climate.
York College welcomed a BBC Sunday Politics film crew onto campus to talk to five A Level Politics students about their views on current and local politics. Their group discussion will contribute to a piece on the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire regional segment of the BBC Sunday Politics, to be aired on Sunday 22nd July on BBC 1. The students, who are all awaiting their A Level results before going to a range of universities, were praised by the BBC producer for their informed opinions, maturity and passion for politics.
After filming was wrapped up, Daniel Gawthorpe reflected on his time studying at York College: "My tutors encouraged discussion in our classes, which is an excellent way of learning. I've been especially interested in learning the difference between the political systems of the UK and the USA and I'm hoping to study Politics at the University of Lincoln."
Student Charlie Procter added: "The opportunity to take part in an extra-curricular activity like this is just amazing. York College provides opportunities to complement our studies, which has really helped us to become more rounded individuals in preparation for university."
