24th May 2017
2017 marks the 175th anniversary of the first York School of Design, established in 1842, making it one of the first design schools outside London.
Help celebrate this significant date by visiting our Creative Shows that are running in June 2017. We are searching for the next contemporary students in Art and Design to carry on this rich creative heritage and tradition.
We are planning a series of lectures to commemorate this year and also will be producing a book to document this milestone in Art and Design education, look out for details of these.
The Creative Show is an exhibition of Further Education and Higher Education students studying Art, Design & Craft courses at York College. The exhibition shows the inspirational ideas and achievements of students in a range of disciplines; drawing, painting, print-making, glass, ceramics, jewellery, sculpture, 3D, product design, film, digital imaging, animation, photography, fashion, design and graphics.
