York College Sport & Public Services Division put the fun into fundraising by hosting two sporting challenges to promote the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, all in aid of Sport Aid.
Students took on the SpeedKix football challenge in the College atrium, honing their goal scoring skills in a speed radar cage, measuring kicks by ‘miles per hour’, and in the sports hall there was a Badminton-a-thon with students and staff playing non-stop matches.
Sport tutor, Andy Phillips says: “The aim was to promote the enjoyment of sport. SpeedKix is a great piece of kit that encourages people to get involved in football, it attracts the crowds and creates a buzz around the place and the badminton students were encouraged to simply have a go and compete.”
The total raised for Sport Aid was £84.35.
