Having passed the application for the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP), York College is delighted to be given the green light to deliver the new apprenticeships from 1st May 2017.
Nikki Davis, Assistant Principal at York College comments: “The new apprenticeships are focused, flexible and employer led and will change the face of skills training in the UK. The Business Development Unit at York College is working on the apprenticeship changes and is delighted that the Skills Funding Agency has approved the College’s application to deliver apprenticeship training directly, or as a sub-contractor to large, levy-paying employers.”
The demand for apprenticeship training is clear … at the recent York College Apprenticeship Showcase, held during National Apprenticeship Week, more than 400 prospective students were keen to find out more about the new training and talk to local employers about becoming an apprentice.
Employers, large, small or micro that may be interested in taking on an apprentice to support their business can contact the Business Development Team on 01904 770368 to discuss their requirements.
