For the sixth year running staff and students at York College are spreading Christmas cheer to those who need it most by collecting donations for Besom Hampers, a local charity who help those in need.

The continued support and generosity of College staff and students has meant that over forty hampers, filled with food and festive goods including Christmas crackers, Christmas puddings, mince pies and even a packet of reindeer food, will be sent to local families who may need a little helping hand this Christmas.

Religious Studies tutor Anna Lewis, who co-ordinates the collection, said: “Hampers have been filled in tutor groups, classrooms and support staff offices – everyone has contributed so much and this will be so greatly appreciated by York people in need”.
